View Full Version : [jadmin] yahoo transport(xmpppy) domain access limit

Hello,
I have yahoo transport(xmpppy) installed with jabberd2 server. However,
I see that this yahoo transport is offered openly to other users from
different domains (JIDs). Is there a way that only users from my domain
can register with this yahoo-transport?
I can see the option in "Service Discovery" through my jabber account at
another domain.
Thank you,
Lada

Some people configure transports as "yahoo.localhost" that way, the server can
reach "yahoo.localhost" but other servers can't resolve that address, so they
don't reach your transport.

If it is jabberd 2.1.x, you may configure router-filter.xml rules to
restrict access to your components.

Thank you for the response. However, I use jabberd2 from Debian
repository (2.0s10) and it's quite old one I know(I'm planning to
upgrade it soon).
Is the current jabberd2 going to be in Debian repositories again?
How stable is considered to be the current jabberd2 server (2.1.x) ?
Thank you.
Lada

There are some source files licensing issues we're resolving now.

Very much more stable than 2.0

It has gotten pretty good. There are still some slow memory leaks
with the sm component, but it has been running quite well for us at
Chesspark for the last few versions.

I would really like to pin them down, but it's not easy.
I do know now, what Rob meant saying that using memory pools was the
worst design decision in jabberd2.
Did you notice any particular activity that makes the memory consumption
larger? It might help with reproducing and finding the leak.

The memory leak seems constant regardless of activity, so it's very
hard to say. Here are two graphs of our month and yearly memory usage
for the xmpp server. This memory is almost entirely consumed by the
sm process. You can see that we have to restart sm to fix it when it
gets too high.
