HI, I am new to Jabber, the company I have joined uses PSI and a Linux based Jabber Server
Jabber is really useful, but I have noticed an annoying 'feature'....
When a Laptop user marks themselves as 'Away' or 'Not Available' and puts in a comment
for the meeting they are going to, all is OK until they unplug their laptop and leave the network
Then the status changes to 'Offline' - Is there any way to indicate the difference between
a) 'Have not connected at all yet today 'Offline' or 'My network is broken 'Offline'
and
b) 'in a meeting doing a powerpoint presentation - status 'Away' or 'Not Available'
i.e. I am busy, and I - choose to not be / cannot be - connected to the LAN
I cannot find a way to get Jabber to show a difference between these two states
Do any Jabber server 'Remember' the Away / Not available state when the client disconnects
rather than just displaying 'Offline' ?????
Thanks in advance for any assistance
(P.s. is the J pronounced as in Just or as a Y (European style)??)
