Hi,
Are there currently problems with the jabber.org server? I'm not able to connect for about 4 days now... as I'm not the only one who's got problems I guess it's a server-problem...

Sorry, this message was caught by the mailman moderation system. Are you
still experiencing these problems?

It was caused by the db encoding problems. I fixed the roster and
everything looks ok now, but I remember there were still problems
logging in with clients other than Psi.

Yes I have fixed a few people's rosters or passwords, too...

But I've still problems. I can't login for about a week now.

And I don't know why...

It doesn't work with Gajim on Linux or Windows, the same with meebo.com. Sometimes I get a message, that my nickname or password is maybe wrong, but they're right.

Maybe it has to do with the server migration.. I cannot login -.-
Is there a possibility for transfering my contact list and chat logs to another acount?

Thanks for help

You are probably hitting a database issue caused by our server migration
(it's not your fault!). Please email your jabber.org username to me at
stpeter (AT) jabber (DOT) org and I will fix the problem.

Try logging in with PSI...

Had similar problems that are fixed now:

Okay, thank you! Problem solved.

It had to do with bad characters in my roster contact names.
I've renamed them with PSI and now Gajim can login again.

Hello.

I'm experiencing the same problems at the moment. I am able to connect
to server using Adium (libpurple from Pidgin), however no one see my
presence and I don't see anyone online. I am able to send messages from
jabber.org server to others, however when someone sends a message to my
jabber.org account - I don't receive it. The sender doesn't receive any
error though. I am unable to connect to the server using ekg2 ncurses
interface (maybe it's my fault).

And I am able to connect using Psi. It works all right then (well except
encoding i think). My roster contains lots of non-ascii contacts - might
it be the problem? Right now - while using Psi - these non-ascii
characters are... trash. I can edit them and tell you if it helps and I
will be able to connect using Adium.

Anyway if there is another way to go - please let me know.

My jid: ike@j.o.

Kind regards,

This is consistent with the database damage when the server was
migrated, but I've checked your roster and it looks correct - do you
still see 'trash' characters in your roster?

In my experience, sometimes characters are elided when viewing via psql,
so appearances can be deceiving. :)

:-) Hello.

Yes I know. And sure my roster should look ok now since after I received
an email that my message to JUser ML was being moderated I joined
#jabber@freenode where a nice person (despite calling me a roster) -
namely |Kev| - fixed this issue. :-) Thank you |Kev|.

So yes - roster was broken. And no - i don't see any 'trash' characters
in it anymore.

Have a nice day.

I didn't use psql - I ran it through my script for checking for
damaged rosters ;)

Oh, so /that's/ why I got deja vu with your username. I've the memory
