[jadmin] SSL connection

Hi

I've set up jabberd2 following this documentation completely:
http://web.archive.org/web/20061010224654/jabberd.jabberstudio.org/2/docs/

This till the point of "Configuring Jabberd 2 for SSL Connections"

But it is only possible to connect without SSL connection. I've used
multiple clients to try it out: exodus, psi and pidgin.

The error at the client is however that the server doesn't support SSL

I hope anyone can help me. Maybe something extra what's obvious to be
done, but isn't in the documentation..

This is a bit outdated.
Why don't you give http://jabberd2.xiaoka.com/wiki/InstallGuide a try?

Hi Tomasz,

Thanks a lot for your reply, but I fear that everything about SSL is
just copy pasted from the previous site. So it doesn't really add
something in value.

To specify my problem a bit further:
The configuration to connect without encryption works without problem.
Then to add encryption I uncommented these:

<pemfile>/usr/local/etc/jabberd/server.pem</pemfile> <ssl-port>5223</ssl-port>

I did this to all components: router.xml, sm.xml, resolver.xml,
s2s.xml, c2s.xml.

I also added extra portnumbers for SSL to /etc/services

xmpp-client 5223/tcp jabber-client # SSL encrypted jabber
client-to-server
xmpp-client 5223/udp jabber-client # SSL encrypted jabber
client-to-server

Next to this I wasn't sure about the common name in the PEM file. I've
tried both the hostname of the server as the domainname. Which one
should I use?
(btw: both didn't work, so this is not the main problem)

Thanks anyway,

I've found the problem, namely the line:
<pemfile>/usr/local/etc/jabberd/server.pem</pemfile> is stated twice in
c2s.xml. I just had to uncomment it another time.
