Add photo to jabber account

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this request, but I have an account on the jabber.org server. I'm using the Psi client to try to add a photo to my jabber.org account. When I try to publish my photo to the server, it times out and says that the server has disconnected. Is there a size limit to the .jpg file that I'm trying to upload or is there some other problem? What is the correct way to do this?

Hi,

vCards are currently disabled on Jabber.org. They should be re-enabled soon, when the new server is up.

Are you sure?
As far as I know, they should be working fine.

The disconnects are most likely to be submission of a large image - try and keep it below 65K.

Thanks. I'll try using a smaller photo file. Is there a plan for jabber.org to support the ability to show the status of music that the user is listening to? That does not seem to be working right now.

Only a comment, maybe some beginners read this thread...

Jabber have TWO pictures, one in the vCard (photo) and one in the user details (Avatar).
Some clients show the avatar as the picture from the user in the contact list, some other the vCard photo.
To have a photo/avatar in all client contact lists it's a good practice to put the same picture at both places, if the client support a setup for both pictures.
Recommend is a 64*64/8kb picture, gif, jpg or png.

I'm using the Psi client and I've uploaded a vCard picture. I don't see any way to upload another picture using this client. Is there an avatar photo setting that's different from the vCard setting in Psi?

I notice that my photo does not appear to users who IM me from Gtalk. Is that a problem with the way Gtalk implements jabber?

Psi only supports vCard pictures afaik.

It might take a bit until Gtalk re-requests the vcard. I have no idea what Gtalk uses.
