Hello there, I am new:). I am doing a website for a non-profile organisation, and the President has told me that apart of his website he would like to do cyber-conferencing every week on the website. To add to that he would also like the cyber-conferencing to support video link, so that people could look at eachother while chatting.
I need to have the cyber-conferencing built into the website with interface for login and password and everything that comes with it. I was told by a friend, cause I asked for help and he said for me to check out Jabba Servers, cause he said that I will need a server obviously.
He said basically this
"You might look at jabber servers to get some idea of how it works (gmail chat is a customized jabber server) jabber is an open standard but it's usually done with a client side app such as pidgin or similar."
I have absolutely no knowledge of Jabba Servers and I have never ever created cyber-conferencing on a website before. To add to that, I am not an expert in web design, but I will get there. I have done programming before like C++ and Java Programming, but am not an expert in that. I am not an expert in servers either.
To tell the truth I just want to finish my IT Degree and get along with my life, and if I do use IT in a job in the future, then so be it.
Anyway, if anyone can give me advice and help me out that would be much appreciated. I think I have come to the right place for help:D.
